HIGH RANK. Search, Maps, AI

Where we work · Canada

SEO services for Canadian businesses

HIGH RANK works remotely with service businesses across Canada, from Vancouver to Montreal. No Canadian office, no city pages pretending otherwise. What you get is a team that understands how Google.ca, Maps and AI answers behave in Canadian markets, and that builds accordingly.

HIGH RANK provides local SEO, Google Maps SEO and AI search optimization to service businesses in Canada, delivered remotely in your time zone. Canadian markets differ from US ones in competition, review volume and language, and our work accounts for that. Pricing is published in US dollars; CAD billing is available on request. See where we work for how a remote agency works a local market.

Google.ca and Maps

How Canadian local search differs.

Google is Google on both sides of the border, and the ranking systems are the same. What differs is the market around them. Canadian metros are large but fewer, so a service category that has forty active competitors in a US city of the same size may have fifteen in a Canadian one. That cuts both ways: it is often faster to reach the Map Pack, and it is also more obvious when a single established competitor has been collecting reviews for a decade.

Review volume tends to run lower in Canadian markets than in comparable US ones, in our experience. That makes each review worth more, and it makes a consistent review habit one of the fastest ways to stand out. It also means we calibrate expectations honestly: 'the top competitor has 180 reviews' is a different problem in Calgary than 'the top competitor has 1,400' in Phoenix.

Service areas are shaped differently too. Many Canadian service businesses cover a metro plus a wide rural ring, from a Greater Toronto Area footprint that spans a dozen municipalities to an Edmonton company that serves towns an hour out. Google's distance factor does not care about provincial boundaries, but it does care about where you are based and what you tell it about your service area. We map your real coverage before we build anything.

Some US-specific levers do not apply or apply differently. Google Local Services Ads are available in Canada in a narrower set of categories. Review platforms carry different weight; HomeStars and the Better Business Bureau matter in ways that Angi does not. And Google's AI features, including AI Overviews and AI Mode, have rolled out to Canada on their own schedule, so we check what your customers actually see in your province rather than assuming it matches a US screenshot.

Billing, language and compliance

The practical questions, answered plainly.

In short

  • Prices in USD; CAD billing available on request
  • English delivery; French content is a scoped add-on, not a default
  • PIPEDA and CASL considered in every form and message
  • Quebec Law 25 and Ontario AODA flagged where relevant

Currency. Our published prices are in US dollars, and the plans below are the same plans we offer every client. Billing in Canadian dollars is available on request; we agree the conversion approach with you before the first invoice so there are no surprises. We do not publish a separate CAD price list.

Language. We write and build in English. If part of your market is French-speaking, most obviously in Quebec and parts of Ontario and New Brunswick, we can scope French content as an add-on produced with qualified French-language writers and reviewed by you. We will not claim fluency we do not have, and we will not run your English pages through a translation tool and call it a French site. Where French is in scope, we also handle the technical side: hreflang, URL structure and separate Business Profile descriptions.

Privacy and anti-spam. Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) governs how private-sector businesses collect and use personal information, and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) sets rules for commercial electronic messages. We are not lawyers and this is not legal advice, but everything we build or send on your behalf is designed with both in mind: forms that collect only what they need and say why, review-request messages that are clearly identified and easy to opt out of, and analytics configured with consent in view. If you operate in Quebec, Law 25 adds requirements we flag for you to review with counsel.

Accessibility. Ontario's AODA sets web accessibility expectations for many organizations, and accessible sites are better sites regardless. We build to WCAG-informed practices as standard.

Where we work in Canada

Metros we work with, without pretending to live there.

We work with service businesses in and around Toronto and the GTA, Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, Winnipeg and Montreal, as well as smaller markets across Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Quebec and the Prairies. We do not maintain offices in any of them and we do not publish a page per city claiming otherwise. Local knowledge, for a remote agency, is research: who ranks there now, how customers phrase their searches, which suburbs and municipalities matter, and what it will take to compete.

Each engagement begins with that research. In a Toronto garage door market the question is how to earn standing across Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan and Markham without a thin page for each. In Calgary it may be a seasonal pattern around furnace and AC work that shapes the content calendar. In Montreal it is almost always the language question. The point is not that we know every market in advance; it is that we find out before we build.

If your market is not on that list, that is fine. The approach does not change for a service business in Halifax, Saskatoon or Kelowna. Tell us the market on a strategy call and we will tell you honestly what we see.

How we start

The first thirty days.

  1. Market read

Who holds the Map Pack and organic results in your area, what their review profile looks like, and which signals got them there.

  2. Foundation audit

Business Profile, citations on Canadian directories, technical health, service pages and current AI visibility for your core prompts.

  3. Plan and scope

A plan matched to one of the tiers below, with French content, multi-location structure or CAD billing scoped explicitly if you need them.

  4. Build and report

Work begins; your first monthly report follows, in your time zone, with the metrics that reflect calls and leads rather than vanity numbers.

FAQ

SEO services for Canadian businesses questions

Do you have an office in Canada?
No. HIGH RANK is a remote team and we do not publish city or office pages that suggest otherwise. We work with Canadian clients in their time zone and do the market research that matters for local results.
Can I pay in Canadian dollars?
Yes, on request. Our published prices are in US dollars. If you prefer CAD billing we agree the conversion approach with you before your first invoice. We do not publish a separate CAD price list.
Can you produce French content for Quebec?
As a scoped add-on, produced with qualified French-language writers and reviewed by you, together with the technical setup for a bilingual site. We deliver in English by default and we do not claim French fluency in-house.
How do PIPEDA and CASL affect SEO work?
Mostly through forms, review requests and analytics. We design forms to collect only what is needed, keep review-request messages clearly identified with an easy opt-out, and configure analytics with consent in mind. This is not legal advice; for Quebec's Law 25 and other specifics we recommend you confirm with counsel.
Is Canadian local SEO easier than US local SEO?
Often less crowded, which can mean faster movement, but not easier in every case. Established competitors with deep review histories exist in every Canadian metro. We assess your specific market before setting expectations.
